Mission
Brave Space Learning Space is a learning community that encourages educational exploration of the world around us. By attending to their educational, social, and developmental needs, we encourage our explorers to be confident and creative citizens of the world.

Being brave is having the courage to consider other approaches to learning as an alternative to the traditional model. We employ a variety of instructional methods that support children as they begin to explore the world around them and embark on their journey of learning for a lifetime.

Learning Styles to Support the Whole Child
Our Montessori Immersion approach combines care of self and care of environment, phonics and math foundations using instructional methods that consider the needs of various learning styles including audio, visual, and kinesthetic learners.
Our goal is to create the optimal social, emotional, and academic environment for developing young minds. To that end, we incorporate a Social Emotional Learning approach designed to encourage the development of self-awareness, self-management, interpersonal skills, and responsible decision-making. We believe that children with these skills are better able to cope with everyday challenges, preparing them to be BRAVE citizens of the world.
Our explorers engage in learning through more than just boards, books, and worksheets. Our pod explores experiential learning through art, imaginative play, yoga/mindfulness, music, dance and movement.
Connecting with Nature
We work to promote a relationship between our explorers and nature that is based in respect and wonder. In an effort to strengthen this connection, our learning space is designed to mirror the outdoors, using neutral colors and elements that reflect nature. We limit the use of plastic and overstimulating learning and play materials, and instead integrate natural materials such as wood, flowers, leaves, rocks, sand, and water into our learning and play.
